When are items dispatched?
Items that are 'In stock' according to the specific item product description page are usually dispatched within 7-10 working days, though we can delivery sooner depending on workload. Dispatch notifications will be sent via email once orders have been collected from our workshop by the chosen courier. Custom orders may take additional time to manufacture but we aim to complete your order as soon as possible.
How much will delivery cost?
The majority of items on EssentialWoodwork.co.uk have any delivery charges included within the price of the item. This makes it as easy as possible for our customers to know exactly how much they’re paying without any additional costs during checkout. A minority of items may need additional delivery charges depending on quantity, such as skirting board, but these are identified when viewing the individual product listing page where applicable.
When will my items be delivered?
Most of our items are delivered using a next day delivery service, after the item is ready for dispatch. Delivery can only be made during weekdays, excluding bank holidays. A Saturday delivery service can be arranged at an additional cost if needed.
Where can I have my items delivered?
Essential Woodwork can ship to an alternative address chosen during checkout. Delivery can only be made within the UK mainland at this time.
Booking tradesmen to fit items ordered
Essential Woodwork can not be held responsible for any additional costs that may be incurred due a delay in delivery times, unless otherwise agreed by Essential Woodwork in writing. We do not recommend booking any tradesmen until your items have been delivered, due to any unforeseen circumstances delaying delivery.
Who will deliver my parcel?
Delivery will be made using a variety of couriers depending on order size and quantity. This is to ensure we can deliver for the best price, consequently passing on any savings to our customers with our competitive prices. If you would like to know the courier used for your order you can either contact us or view your tracking information provided after order fulfillment.
What if I’m not available to receive the parcel(s)?
Failed delivery attempts usually results in further attempts to deliver your items by our couriers. Please note that if the goods can not be delivered and require being sent back out, a delivery charge may need to be paid.
Will the delivery driver help take my good inside?
There is no guarantee that the delivery driver would be able to take your items inside your home for you. It is not standard or required of the driver due to insurance and injury reasons whilst in your property, so should damage or injury occur there can not be cause for complaint. It is also at the discretion of the driver whether to deliver to your doorstep. Some couriers will only deliver to kerbside due to insurance reasons, though the driver out of choice may help deliver to your doorstep or inside your property.
Collections can be made from our factory in Northamptonshire upon request. Due to Essential Woodwork being the direct manufacturer of our products, our factory isn't appropriate for a shop front for customers to browse our items for sale. However, customers are more than welcome to collect items ordered from us at a time arranged upon ordering. Contact us before or after placing an order and we'll be more than happy to arrange your items for a time when they can be collected. Our collection address is:

Our policy lasts 30 days. If 30 days have gone by since your purchase, unfortunately we can’t offer you a refund or exchange.
Items must be returned at your cost and in a re-sale able condition. We ask that customers return items in suitable packaging so as not to cause damage during transit. Appropriate insurance must be taken when booking the return.
Essential Woodwork is not responsible for any additional cost that may result from a faulty product.
To complete your return, we require a receipt or proof of purchase.
There are certain situations where only partial refunds are granted:
* Any item not in its original condition, is damaged or missing parts for reasons not due to our error.
* Any item that is returned more than 30 days after delivery.
* A deduction of the original delivery cost of your item.
Once your return is received and inspected, we will be in touch with you regarding the status of your refund.
If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment, within 30 days.
Late or missing refunds
* If you haven’t received a refund yet, first check your bank account again.
* Then contact your credit card company, it may take some time before your refund is officially posted.
* Next contact your bank. There is often some processing time before a refund is posted.
* If you’ve done all of this and you still have not received your refund yet, please contact us at email@example.com.
Only regular priced items may be refunded, unfortunately sale items cannot be refunded.
Items that have been resized or amended according to customer requirements such as wax finishes, profiled returns or cut to size options (custom orders) can't be returned, unless faulty.
We only replace items if they are defective or damaged. If you need to exchange it for the same item, send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org and your item to: Essential Woodwork Limited, 28 Lanchester Way, Royal Oak Industrial Estate, Daventry, Northants, NN11 8PH.
If the item was marked as a gift when purchased and shipped directly to you, you’ll receive a gift credit for the value of your return. Once the returned item is received, a gift certificate will be mailed to you.
If the item wasn’t marked as a gift when purchased, or the gift giver had the order shipped to themselves to give to you later, we will send a refund to the gift giver and he will find out about your return.

You will be responsible for paying for your own delivery costs for returning your item. Delivery costs are non-refundable.
Depending on where you live, the time it may take for your exchanged product to reach you, may vary.
You should consider using a trackable shipping service and insuring your item against loss or damage. We don’t guarantee that we will receive your returned item.
